The Problem with the Graphics Card
What also contributed to my longer absence was my MacBook:
One day, it started displaying several green and pink pixels. These display issues and distortions kept piling up, and after a while, they got so bad that my MacBook got stuck on the boot screen. It looked like a broken pixel wasteland. It wouldn’t start up anymore. I was at a loss.
After a friend had solved a similar problem, I decided to follow his advice and try the myth of “baking the graphics card”—I’ll distance myself here for a moment: Caution! Do not try this at home.
I was surprised by the result: It worked again! My MacBook booted up normally and functioned perfectly once more. Still, over time, some display errors would pop up here and there whenever the MacBook got too hot.
